IDEAS FOR FURNISHING HOMES IN 2023

Ideas for furnishing your home in 2023: trendy colours, materials, patterns and textures for the new year.

New year, new life?
You can start by breathing new life into your home! You can do it even for little money, simply by getting inspired by the trendy colours and materials for 2023.
Here are some ideas for you!

Ideas for furnishing your home in 2023: trendy colours

If you came across this article, it means you were looking for ideas for furnishing your home in 2023. But what is an idea?

An idea, especially when it comes to furniture, design or creativity, is nothing more than the result of a whole series of information that our mind stores and then transforms into a 'solution'. Every idea is a new solution, new compared to many others that have been found before. Only new ideas can be trendy because, the rest is always something already seen... and maybe even out of fashion.

This is precisely why today we are talking to you about trendy colours for 2023. Colours that can give the rooms of your home a new chromatic character, changing their style and perception.

Bright and pop colours will make a comeback in our homes: lemon yellow and bright blue (more commonly called 'electric'), but used sparingly, without excess. Use them for a few furnishing accessories here and there: knick-knacks and wall decorations, small carpets or runners for the kitchen, cushions and other small home textiles. If you decide to dare to use bright colours, pay attention to the combinations: always combine them with neutral colours and materials in light, natural tones.

If bright colours are not for you, opt for more relaxing tints such as warm and "earthy" ones: brown, terracotta, camel. Combine them with beige, sand and cream for a sophisticated, relaxed, tone-on-tone style. The perfect combination with wooden (or similarly textured) furniture and carpets and home textiles with modern, geometric patterns combined with the colours just mentioned.

The perfect palette for furnishing a beach house, but also for those who love colours that transmit serenity and tranquillity is the palette composed of pastel blue, cobalt blue, ice, turquoise and midnight blue. All shades that go perfectly well with white and are reminiscent of the sky and the sea and are ideal for use in rooms that are the king of home relaxation such as the bedroom or bathroom, whether on textiles and carpets or on walls.

The Purple, which was also one of the most popular colours during 2022, does not intend to withdraw from the charts in 2023 either. Compared to the Pantone colour Very Peri, however, it becomes darker and gloomier, and therefore more difficult to use. A piece of advice? Match it with natural light wood and use it only on 1 or 2 elements per room: the result should be bold but refined, not horror!

Sustainable design lovers, there is a shade for you too! The one that not only is trendy but also perfectly embodies the concept of green living, but that you might not "expect": olive green. Combine it with natural or similar materials and hues such as beige or sand, decorate with plants and in just a few touches you will have recreated a natural oasis-style home!

The timeless and always fashionable colours-non-colours: black and white. Use them and also draw on their infinite variations, combine them with some golden details...et voila! A minimalist style home that is always on trend.

Last but certainly not least, the Pantone 2023 colour: Viva Magenta! Find out more in the next section "ideas for furnishing your home in 2023 using the colour of the year".

Furnishing your home in 2023 using the Pantone colour of the year

The wait is over: Pantone Colour Institute has published the trend colour for 2023!
Viva Magenta 18-1750 is a red with shades of pink. Only at a first glance does the message it intends to convey become clear: it is a hymn to vitality, exuberance, joy and courage.

A colour more than ever suitable for facing a new year and forgetting the more recent past among the various health and social problems known to all.

Perfectly combined with lighter shades such as pink, khaki and sand colour, it is certainly an unusual colour to include in the home, but very adaptable. Just use it wisely, in the form of decorations (textiles, carpets, candles, cushions, towels) and not on large pieces of furniture (i.e. it looks great on a small armchair, but creates too daring an effect on a three-door wardrobe!).

Aware of the boldness of this colour, Pantone did not just announce it, but created for the first time the Magentaverse: a palette composed of 7 additional colours that go well with the main one, a sort of guide to the perfect match!

Any Ideas for furnishing your home in 2023 using Viva Magenta?

If you have a beige or grey sofa or bed frame, insert some cushions in Viva Magenta, or choose bed linen, carpets or carpets for the living room in neutral colours with details in Viva Magenta. Match it with a small vase in the same colour, or a candle or other decorative accessory.

In the kitchen you can place it using a centrepiece runner, placemats, a tablecloth or tea towels for hanging. You can also include it in the room with the help of a must-have accessory such as a kitchen rug to combine the useful with the pleasant.

As long as the colours of the tiles and sanitary ware allow it, you can also include Viva Magenta in the bathroom: just choose textiles, candles and other objects in this colour or in shades that match it.

They are available in a variety of colours.

Home furnishing ideas 2023: trends and tips

Year after year, the world of interior design pulls new inspirations and trends out of its hat, renews itself and surprises us. In 2023, a return to nature will be the main focus, almost as much as a primordial call.

Secondly, attention will fall on round, soft shapes. Decorations will wink at animal prints, recalling wild nature and the eclectic 1970s.

The emphasis will be on rounded corners, round shapes and soft, sinuous lines. Angular corners and lines that are too straight are banned. In the world of furnishing accessories, round carpets
The reference to nature will increasingly involve the construction materials of furniture and accessories, but not only. Textures will generally appear less smooth and perfect to the touch and to the eye, deliberately more raw and natural, almost unprocessed.
There will be more commitment to the use of sustainable and recyclable elements.
Real plants will also enter the homes of those who have never had a very green thumb, if not for passion, for style.

"Wild" details will peep into the world of textiles and wallpapers that will welcome animals and wild motifs, recreating a kind of jungle in the home. All this to be combined with bouclé effect textures (also seen this year and also well established at the Salone del Mobile 2022), long-pile carpets and bright, retro tones typical of the 1970s.
